Using information gleaned from I Kings 3-8, students designed tourism promotional websites about King Solomon's kingdom. Content areas covered needed to include: his administration and government, cultural sites, testimonials & reviews and a gift shop.

Entry Narrative

To foster critical and creative thinking, I design projects that require students to consider texts in a completely new light. In this example, students were asked to design a tourism website that would depict King Solomon’s monarchy at its height. Through this project, students needed to read for meaning and understanding, locate evidence, back up statements via that evidence, and create a well-thought-out and clearly formatted website. My students constructed their own understanding of the texts we had read, made meaning of them and created beautiful, professional-looking websites with excellent content.
