Entry Narrative

The Integrated Online Judaics Classroom

The Integrated Online Judaics Classroom utilizes the PowerSchool Learning platform (also known as Haiku Learning) to create an online experience that compliments learning in the classroom. The system focuses primarily on achieving the following three goals in the subjects of Talmud, Tanach, and Halacha:

1. Developing reading skills.

2. Developing vocabulary skills.

3. Developing conceptual skills.

The system also provides built-in tools for review and practice.

In this video you will learn how to integrate pages, screencasts, quizlet flashcards, practice quizzes, discussion boards, and polls to create an online classroom experience that provides numerous learning opportunities and modalities for students in Judaics classees. The online platform allows teachers to teach in a way that maximizes student discussion and engagement, while still providing the tools that are necessary for students to succeed in mastering reading and vocabulary skills on their own time. One of the most powerful features of the PowerSchool Learning system is its “Embed the Web” feature. This feature allows teachers to embed almost anything directly into the platform pages and the Integrated Online Classroom makes excellent use of this feature.
